Description: The primary aim of “EU-ECHO” project is to bridge the gap between European citizens, particularly the youth, and the European Union to cultivate a sense of European citizenship and identity, encouraging critical thinking, active civic engagement, deep understanding of the EU’s fundamental values, and to develop the Youth Organizations’ international collaboration and action towards European Culture and the EU identity.

It also aims to empower participants to form their own opinions, contribute actively to the betterment of the EU, and develop a nuanced and dynamic European identity. “EU ECHO” youth exchange is designed not to impose a particular ideology but to empower participants to form their own opinions, to develop a sense of belonging based on their values, and to actively contribute to the ongoing evolution of the European Union.

The objectives of the project are:
• To increase participants’ knowledge and awareness of European Union history, culture, heritage, and values.
• To harmoniously strengthen both European and national identities.
• To promote interpersonal, intercultural, and social engagement within a European context.
• To develop critical thinking and civic engagement skills while preventing radicalization.
• To enhance international collaboration between youth organizations in support of European culture and values.

In the framework of the Project KA1 EU-ECHO
“European Union Chronicles: Weaving Heritage,
Nurturing History, Empowering Youth for a
Unified Tomorrow EQ for Modern Life” from
April 6-11, 40 young people from Italy, Slovakia,
Albania, Spain, and Romania took part in the
training in Madrid, Spain.
Based on the activities, volunteers gained
knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • Understanding EU history
  • Exploring European identity
  • Thinking critically about the EU
  • Improving intercultural skills
  • Learning about key figures in the EU
